Investigations into the controversial video posted on 'X' are progressing rapidly, according to Police Spokesman Byron Byronos. Various Police departments and units are assisting in the investigation, and the cooperation of Europol and other foreign countries has been requested. The Attorney General has appointed an independent criminal investigator, former Supreme Court Judge Andreas Paschalidis, to conduct inquiries in collaboration with the Police. The deadline for completing the investigation is three months. The investigator will examine the possibility of any criminal offense committed by any person in connection with the video posted on the 'Emily Thompson' account on January 8, 2026. The decision to appoint the independent criminal investigator was based on the powers conferred by Article 4(2) of the Criminal Procedure Law (Chapter 155).
