Police Unions Expect Discussion on Work Schedules in Parliament

Police unions in Cyprus expect a discussion on the issue of new work schedules in the Parliamentary Legal Committee in January. The discussion was prompted by the issuance of a circular by the Chief of Police that caused reactions. The 'Equality' union has already called for a protest rally outside the Parliament on the day of the meeting, while the Cyprus Police Association (CPA) is also awaiting a meeting of the Mixed Staff Committee of the Police (MEPA) to examine the issue. The CPA insists on the need for dialogue with the police leadership, emphasizing that problems could have been avoided with timely consultation.
