Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis stated that initial booking figures for 2026 are exceptionally positive, emphasizing that visitor satisfaction is the key challenge. Mr. Koumis met with stakeholders from the Famagusta province to discuss challenges and actions related to the region's tourism sector, focusing on Ayia Napa and Protaras. The meeting addressed issues such as climate change and the need to upgrade the tourism product through better coordination between local authorities and the tourism industry. The Deputy Minister noted that significant upgrade projects have already been implemented in Ayia Napa and Protaras, including tree planting and initiatives to connect tourism with the region's history.
