President Christodoulides: Kronos Gas Field Development in Final Stage – “Cypriot Natural Gas to Europe via Egypt”

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, announced that the 'Kronos' gas field is in the final stage of development, with the aim of exporting Cypriot natural gas to Europe. The work is expected to be completed by the end of March, at which point the President will travel to Egypt to participate in the Cairo Energy Forum, where he seeks to secure the participation of the President of the European Commission. In a meeting with a representative of ENI, President Christodoulides emphasized the importance of completing the project for Cyprus, Egypt, and Europe. The first development will come from the plots in the Cypriot EEZ and is expected to have a significant economic impact. The ENI representative stated that the company has already invested $1.2 billion in Cyprus and confirmed its commitment to completing the project, which is the result of an agreement between Cyprus, Egypt, ENI, and TOTAL.
