President: Republic of Cyprus is Part of the Solution, Honors 1963-64 Fighters

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, stated at an event honoring the fighters of the Turkish resistance of 1963-64 that the Republic of Cyprus is part of the solution and not the problem. He emphasized that Cyprus, during its Presidency of the Council of the EU, acts as a pillar of security and stability in the region. President Christodoulides referred to the historical confirmation of Turkey's partitionist plans, with the Turkish resistance preceding the 1974 invasion and the ongoing occupation. He reiterated the government's commitment to the struggle for the liberation and reunification of Cyprus, as well as the work to strengthen the economy, modernize the state, and address migration. He praised the sacrifice of the volunteer fighters and announced an effort to identify and record all volunteers, so that their contribution can be recognized by the state.
