Rationality or Fear of Turkish Expansionism?

The article examines Greece's foreign policy towards Turkey, arguing that the attempt to “normalize” relations with the “Athens-Ankara Friendship Agreement” is a mistake, as it undermines the defense of Greek and Cypriot sovereign rights. The transfer of Turkish illegalities from the EU-Turkey framework to the bilateral level, as Turkey sought, is considered to serve Turkish interests and weaken the Greek position. Specifically, it refers to the obstruction of the implementation of the Cyprus-Greece electricity interconnection cable by the Turkish presence in Kasos, despite the support and funding of the EU. The author argues that Greece should insist on defending its rights and not abandon rationality in favor of fear of Turkish expansionism.
