Greece, Israel, and Cyprus will intensify joint air and naval exercises in the Eastern Mediterranean from 2026, deepening their defense cooperation. This agreement, recently signed, includes joint exercises and the transfer of know-how from Israel to Greece and Cyprus to counter various threats. Turkey is closely monitoring these developments. Greece has already purchased missile systems from Israel and is in talks to acquire additional anti-aircraft and anti-ballistic systems as part of the 'Achilles Shield' program, estimated to cost 3 billion euros. This agreement is a continuation of the close cooperation between the three countries in the military, defense, and energy sectors.
