Russian Ambassador to Cyprus: Cypriot EU Presidency Could Revive Dialogue with Moscow

The Russian Ambassador to Cyprus, Murat Zyazikov, expressed confidence that the Cypriot EU Presidency will contribute to the resumption of dialogue between Moscow and Brussels, promoting a more realistic and responsible approach. He argued that the EU should reconsider its policy towards Russia and initiate a more substantial dialogue, taking into account new geopolitical realities. The Ambassador accused the US of lacking intentions to participate in resolving the Ukrainian crisis and expressed hope that the EU will follow a different path. He emphasized that Cyprus, due to its historical friendship with Russia and its geographical location, can play a significant role in shaping a more constructive relationship between the EU and Russia.
