Searching for Your Roots

The author begins by referring to the Archbishop of Cyprus's Christmas encyclical and the disappointment of a friend who found no words of hope or joy in it. He then develops the thought that everyone, in difficult times, feels lost, especially when the prosperity and ease of life distance them from their true values. As an antidote to the feeling of being lost, he suggests searching for one's roots, childhood memories, the sacrifices of ancestors, and the purpose of life. At the same time, he expresses his disappointment with some representatives of the Church, citing the opinion of a professor who had lost hope in the Church. Finally, he emphasizes that the search for God must be authentic and not misled by the weaknesses of those who claim to represent Him.
