Starmer: Any Troop Deployment to Ukraine Subject to Parliamentary Vote

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated today that any deployment of UK forces to Ukraine, based on the declaration signed with France and Ukraine, will be subject to a parliamentary vote. The declaration outlined the possibility of deploying forces if a peace agreement is reached. Starmer assured that Parliament would be kept informed as the situation evolves and that the number of troops would be determined by military plans. Furthermore, Starmer said he had spoken with former US President Donald Trump regarding security guarantees for Ukraine and assured that Britain would not act without full consultation with the United States. The United States has already expressed its support for a broad coalition of allies to provide security guarantees to Ukraine.
