Strong Attack by Phaidonos over Country's Disgrace. "People within and around the Presidential Palace"

The Mayor of Paphos, Faidonas Phaidonos, launches a fierce criticism towards the government and the President of the Republic regarding a video that has come to light. The video depicts the Director of the President's Office, the Director of the Cyfield Group and other individuals, causing reactions and questions about possible funding and lack of transparency. Mr. Phaidonos accuses people within and around the Presidential Palace of discrediting the country and undermining its credibility, especially at a time when Cyprus holds the presidency of the European Union. He rejects the view that the damage comes from external sources, emphasizing that the actions of these people are the cause of the problem. The Mayor of Paphos states that the practice of bribes and black money to secure permits or expedite projects cannot be accepted. He also denounces the existence of illegal activities, such as money laundering, and the need to protect healthy entrepreneurship from organized crime. Mr. Phaidonos calls for a new beginning for Cyprus, with the eradication of corruption and the prevalence of transparency and good governance. He also refers to the "Social Support Fund" at the Presidential Palace, requesting the publication of the names of the sponsors and the reasons why they received favors from the state.
