Tax Department Announces VAT and Declaration Extensions

The Tax Department has announced extensions for the submission of declarations and the payment of VAT. Specifically, the deadline for the VAT Declaration and payment of tax for the period ending November 30, 2024, as well as for the INTRASTAT Declaration for December 2024, is extended to January 14, 2025. Furthermore, the submission and payment of the VAT Declaration for the period ending November 30, 2025, the Summary Report (VIES) for December 2025, and the Declaration for the payment of the flat-rate VAT amount for urban taxis (together with the payment for the second half of 2025) are extended to January 20, 2026. The Tax Department reminds that late VAT declarations are subject to a €100 charge, while late payment of VAT due entails an additional tax of 10% on the amount. Similar charges apply for the late submission of INTRASTAT and VIES declarations, as well as for the Special Scheme Declaration for Urban Taxis. These extensions aim to facilitate taxpayers and ensure the smooth fulfillment of their tax obligations.
