The Night Robina Aminian Didn't Come Home

Robina Aminian, a 24-year-old student from Marivan studying in Tehran, was shot and killed by Iranian security forces during the bloody protests in January 2026. Aminian, a lover of fashion and activism, participated in an anti-government demonstration near the university campus shortly before the regime shut down the internet and telecommunications and violently suppressed the protests. Her aunt, Khali Nouri, described her as a girl full of enthusiasm and dreams. The bloodshed, characterized by an unprecedented wave of violence, is the most severe recorded in protests in Iran, with the exact number of deaths difficult to determine due to the communication blackout.
