European Commission Visits the Green Line in Cyprus

The College of Commissioners of the European Union visited the Green Line in Nicosia today, completing their visit to Cyprus. The visit included a tour of the old city and discussions with Cypriot citizens. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, and the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, accompanied the members of the College during their tour of the Green Line. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, had visited the Green Line the previous day with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides. The visit of the College of Commissioners to Cyprus took place within the framework of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. President von der Leyen expressed the EU's support for the reunification of Cyprus and the achievement of a fair and lasting solution to the Cyprus issue. The members of the College departed from Cyprus shortly before noon on Friday.
