Tragedy in Germany: Two 18-Year-Olds Killed by Fireworks

Two 18-year-olds have died in Germany during New Year's Eve celebrations due to injuries sustained from fireworks. The two incidents occurred in different locations in the city of Bielefeld. Additionally, a 14-year-old lost his hand in an explosion caused by fireworks in the Rendentlich area, while in Berlin, five people were injured, two of them seriously. The use of fireworks is only legal on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, however, injuries are common, especially from homemade and illegal fireworks. Experts are calling for a ban on the sale of fireworks.
