Trump Invites Greece and Cyprus to Join Gaza Peace Council

According to reports from Greek media, Donald Trump has invited Greece and Cyprus to participate in the so-called 'Peace Council' that will oversee the interim governance of Gaza. The council will consist of 25 founding members, including countries that participated in the historic Sharm El Sheikh ceremony, such as France, Canada, Gulf countries, and Turkey. The participation of Greece and Cyprus signifies an upgrade in their role in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East region. The invitation to Turkey was also announced by the Turkish presidency. The Peace Council is part of a broader peace plan for Gaza, based on UN Security Council Resolution 2803. It will be responsible for the international supervision of the transition process and supporting stabilization efforts. To support the plan, two additional bodies have been established: the Executive Committee, responsible for implementing the political and operational parameters, and the Palestinian national technocratic committee, which will be responsible for the temporary administration of Gaza during the transition period. N. Mladenov, a former Bulgarian diplomat, has been appointed High Representative to coordinate the transitional bodies and the Peace Council. This initiative represents an effort to find a solution to the crisis in Gaza and restore stability to the region.
