Donald Trump threatened Venezuelan interim president Delcy Rodriguez, stating she would face harsher consequences than Nicolas Maduro if she doesn't cooperate with the US. Trump described Venezuela as a bankrupt country and argued that its reconstruction is desirable. He also reiterated his desire to acquire Greenland for the United States, stating, “We need Greenland, absolutely.” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington is willing to cooperate with Venezuelan officials under conditions, while Rodriguez responded that Venezuela is ready to defend its sovereignty.
