UN Security Council to Convene Following New Russian Strikes on Ukraine

The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Monday, at the request of Ukraine, to discuss the recent Russian strikes. Ukraine accuses Russia of escalating violence and using the new Orechnik ballistic missile, describing the attacks as war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Russian strikes have caused significant damage to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, leaving thousands of residents without heating and prompting the mayor to call for a temporary evacuation. Russia's use of the Orechnik missile is considered a serious threat to the security of the European continent. Ukraine's request was supported by six members of the Security Council, including Greece.
