US: "No Discussion of Military Force in Greenland"

The Republican Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, stated today that the United States does not intend to use military force to take over Greenland, contradicting statements made yesterday, Tuesday, by the White House. According to Johnson, the White House's statements, which indicated that Donald Trump was considering several options, including "the use of the military," to acquire the autonomous territory of Denmark, were merely "general statements" regarding the exploration of diplomatic channels. The White House's initial statement had mentioned that Trump was considering various options, including military intervention, to acquire the semi-autonomous Danish territory.
