US: Sending hundreds of additional police officers to Minnesota

The US Department of Homeland Security is sending "hundreds" of additional police officers to Minnesota, a day after tens of thousands of people marched in Minneapolis to protest the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Rene Good by an ICE officer. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the officers will reinforce the security of ICE personnel. Approximately 2,000 federal police officers are already in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, as part of the largest operation ever undertaken by the Department of Homeland Security. The move comes amid growing protests nationwide over deportation policies and the death of Rene Good.
