Üstel Rules Out Early Elections in the Pseudo-State

Unal Üstel, the “prime minister” of the pseudo-state, ruled out the possibility of early elections, responding to rumors and pressure from the Turkish Cypriot “opposition”. He emphasized that the priority of his “government” is to serve the public and promote legislative work. Üstel stated that any decision on early elections would be made in consultation with his partners and after consultation with the opposition. The president of the Republican Turkish Party (RTP) had previously called for early elections.
