Venezuela Alleges US Military Attack, Maduro Declares State of Emergency

The Venezuelan government has accused the United States of launching a “serious military attack” against political and military installations in Caracas and other areas. According to the statement, the attack was carried out with missiles, as also reported by Colombian President Gustavo Petro. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro declared a state of emergency and called on social and political forces to activate mobilization plans. The Pentagon and the White House have not yet commented on the allegations. The accusations come amid heightened tensions between the two countries, with the US intensifying its operations against drug trafficking in the region and Venezuela accusing Washington of seeking to overthrow its government.
