The situation in Venezuela is tense following a US operation that reportedly led to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and the First Lady. Venezuela has been declared a state of emergency, and the Minister of Defense has assured that the country will resist any foreign military presence. Vice President Delcy Rodríguez demanded immediate proof of life for Maduro and his wife, stating that the US attack resulted in casualties among government officials, military personnel, and civilians. US officials confirmed that the operation was carried out by the elite Delta Force team, which had also been involved in the neutralization of the ISIS leader. The State Department announced that Maduro will be held accountable for his crimes.
