Russians Aim for Nuclear Production at Akkuyu by 2026

Russian company Rosatom has announced its aim to begin nuclear production at the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey by 2026. Despite difficulties caused by international economic conditions and supply chain issues, the project is progressing and moving towards the testing phase. However, the project is facing political opposition in Turkey, with the CHP party claiming that Russia is expected to make a net profit of over $180 billion during the plant's 69-year operational period, and calling for the contract to be cancelled.
