Six Arrests and Dozens of Checks During Police Night Operations

Police continued targeted preventative operations throughout the night, with an increased presence in key urban areas, aiming to prevent serious criminal activity, protect citizens, and maintain public order. During the night operations on Thursday, a total of six people were arrested. Three individuals were arrested in Limassol for illegally residing in the Republic of Cyprus, and three for illegal employment. Throughout the night, over 136 vehicles were checked, and more than 53 people were inspected. Simultaneously, 43 premises were checked, resulting in 20 complaints related to operating without a license, undeclared work, and failure to issue receipts. Additionally, 48 alcohol tests were conducted on drivers, leading to 20 complaints for various traffic violations. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing, and intensified preventative plan by the Police, with increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational response in all provinces, in order to prevent crime and enhance citizens' sense of security. The Police are committed to continuous and intensive preventative action, with targeted checks and immediate response to any incident, in order to ensure public order and safety.
