The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has announced the schedule for the mass installation of smart meters throughout January, covering various areas in all provinces. In Nicosia, the installation will take place in Strovolos and the area enclosed by Strovolou, Dighenis Akritas, Agios Prokopios, and Archangel Michael Avenues. In Limassol, work will focus on both sides of Archbishop Leontios A' Avenue and the wider area defined by Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, Moni Machaira Street, Tagmatarchis Pouliou Street, Demosthenis Mitsis Street, Navarinou Street, Gladstone Street, Agias Zonis Street, and Thessaloniki Street. In the province of Larnaca, the installation will concern the areas of Larnaca, Livadia, Oroklini, and Pyla (coastal), specifically on both sides of Ammochostos Avenue (Dhekelia Road). In Famagusta, work will be carried out in Paralimni, on both sides of Protaras Avenue at the height of the Church of Saint Barbara, in the Kapparis area (from the Agia Triada roundabout to Konstantinou Karamanli Street), in Protaras (on both sides of Protaras-Cape Greco Avenue, from Protaras Avenue to Symi Street), and in the Prophet Elias area. Finally, in Paphos, the installation of smart meters will take place on both sides of Tombs of the Kings Avenue, between Apostle Paul Avenue and the Chlorakas Municipal Boundaries. The EAC reminds that the replacement of the meters requires a temporary power outage, which is estimated not to exceed 20 minutes. The EAC expresses its apologies for any inconvenience that may be caused to consumers during the installation. The announcement aims to inform the public about the schedule and the areas that will be affected, so that they can prepare accordingly for the temporary power outage.
