Police: Strong Criticism for Reducing Duty Hours from 19.5 to 5 Days

The decision of the Chief of Police to reduce police duty hours from 19.5 to 5 days has received strong criticism from the Equality Police Trade Union. The President of the union, Nikos Loizidis, described the decision as inappropriate and hasty, arguing that it is a unilateral change of labor rights and that it has already failed. He expressed concern about the impact of the decision on the working hours of police officers working on the front line, such as MMAD, YKAN, and the Crime Detection Departments, as well as the Presidential Guard and CYP.
