Former Bishop of Paphos Submits Confession of Faith, Rejects Heresy Claims

The former Metropolitan Bishop of Paphos, Tychikos, has submitted two Confessions of Faith to the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus and the Ecumenical Patriarchate, in an attempt to dispel any doubts regarding his doctrinal position and his relationship with the Orthodox Church. In his letter to the Archbishop of Cyprus, George, Tychikos declares his full acceptance of the Holy Canons and the dogmas of the Church, rejecting any connection with heretical practices. He also expresses reservations about the process of his dismissal from the Metropolis of Paphos, considering it unconstitutional and a violation of the Church's Charter. Tychikos intends to appeal to the courts, challenging the legality of the process and requesting the suspension of the election of a new Metropolitan Bishop. Finally, he states that he will not contend for the Archbishopric in the event of a review of the decision.
