Justice Minister to Meet Unions Today – Working Hours Issue on the Table

The Minister of Justice, Kostas Fytiris, will meet with representatives of unions representing security personnel today to discuss issues related to his portfolio, with the issue of working hours being paramount. Unions, such as PASYDY and SEK, are protesting the recent circular issued by the Chief of Police regarding working hours, characterizing it as a violation of labor rights. The Equality Union expects clarification from the Minister regarding the government's agreement with the circular. The Police, through its spokesperson, refuted the unions' objections, arguing that the circular aims to improve the functioning of the force and does not abolish overtime work.
