Britain: Anti-War Rallies in London – Thousands on the Streets in Two Major Marches

Thousands of people participated in two major anti-war marches in London, culminating in Whitehall. Police increased their presence to ensure the safety of protesters. The main march, organized by the Together Alliance, started from Park Lane, while a separate march, titled “Together for Palestine,” started from Exhibition Road and joined the main march. Protesters chanted slogans in support of refugees and against racism and Trump, holding placards with related messages. The program included speeches in Whitehall and a music event in Trafalgar Square, with the participation of singer Le-Ann Pinnock, a video message from London Mayor Sadiq Khan, and a speech by Green Party leader Zack Polanski. Political figures also participated in the mobilization, including former Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn and Labor MP Diane Abbott. The events concluded around 6:00 PM. No protests were scheduled for Sunday.
