Nikos Sykas Denies Allegations of Violence During Testimony

Published January 22, 2026, 11:34

MP Nikos Sykas of DISY categorically denies allegations of violence and psychological abuse against a woman in Athens on New Year's Eve. He testified at the Limassol TAE, stating that he did not insult or hit the woman. The woman's complaint was withdrawn a few days later due to the publicity the case received and the psychological stress it caused her. Despite the withdrawal, the Supreme Constitutional Court examined a request for a waiver of his immunity, while the MP is considering appealing to the court to be excluded from the DISY ballot, believing that the presumption of innocence is being violated.
