Two Shipping Companies and a Private Individual Donate €1.7 Million to Support Organization, Sparking Conflict of Interest Allegations

MP Christos Christofides of AKEL has accused the Independent Social Support Agency of a significant conflict of interest, pointing to collusion and corruption. He stated that two shipping companies and a private individual have donated a total of €1.7 million to the Agency, while simultaneously receiving substantial benefits from the state, such as co-funded projects and tax breaks. Mr. Christofides called for the full disclosure of all the Agency's donors for parliamentary review, expressing concern over the reluctance to do so. He also commented on attempts to politically harm the President of the Republic, arguing that the President is responsible for his own exposure due to the actions of his close associates regarding the controversial video. AKEL has submitted a bill to abolish the Agency, and the Auditor General's report has been forwarded to the Police.
