2nd Historical Memory Festival Inaugurated in Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality

The 2nd Historical Memory Festival was inaugurated in the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia on Friday, March 27, 2026. The event, organized by the Municipality and the Pages of Historical Memory and Representation, hosts the largest exhibition of historical modeling and historical relics, which will be open until April 6, 2026. The festival is under the auspices of the Minister of Defense, Vasilis Palma. During the opening ceremony, greetings were addressed by the Mayor of Paralimni-Deryneia, Giorgos Nicolettos, the Chief of Staff of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Anastasios Kyriakidis, and the President of S.I.M.A., Savvas Tsiolakis. The Mayor congratulated the Pages of Historical Memory and Representation for their cooperation and the presentation of the exhibition. Furthermore, he thanked the Minister of Defense for his patronage, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives for preserving historical memory, fostering national identity, and familiarizing younger generations with the history of the country. The exhibition is open daily with free admission. The organization of the Festival is a significant initiative to preserve and highlight the collective historical memory, especially for younger generations.
