Cyprus Film Commission's London Events Draw Strong Response

The Cyprus Film Commission organized a three-day roadshow in London to promote Cyprus as a destination for film and television productions. The events were aimed at audiovisual professionals in the United Kingdom, as well as Cypriots living and working there. The head of the Commission, Lefteris Eleftheriou, presented the incentive program offered by Cyprus, which is characterized as one of the most generous and fastest in Europe. The presentation focused on financial incentives, practical solutions, and funding requirements. The response from professionals was very strong, exceeding initial estimates. Interest in Cyprus as a filming location is increasing, resulting in an increase in international productions choosing the island. The program, created in 2017, has an annual budget of 25 million euros and supports more than 7 international productions. A key element of the program is the requirement for collaboration with Cypriot entrepreneurs, thereby strengthening the local audiovisual industry. The event at the Cypriot High Commission was co-organized with the business association 'Cypriots in the City', which emphasized the power of cooperation between the diaspora and institutions for the future of Cyprus.
