Ministry of Education: Implementation of New Teacher Evaluation System on Track

The Ministry of Education has informed Parliament that the implementation of the New Teacher and Educational Work Evaluation System is proceeding normally, in accordance with the legislation. The System Monitoring Committee has already finalized the evaluation criteria for all positions and has submitted them to Parliament. The finalization of the Service Plan for Senior Educators is underway, and the gradual implementation of the individual phases of the new system has begun. The first cycle of training actions for teachers of all levels has been successfully completed. The new system includes measures to substantially support schools and teachers, such as the creation of new inspector and Senior Educator positions, as well as the reduction of teaching periods for specific categories of teachers. The Ministry is committed to fulfilling other requests of teacher organizations, such as reducing the teaching time of Principals and increasing the number of Principal positions. The implementation of the new evaluation system is a central priority for the reform of public education, and the approval of the evaluation criteria by Parliament is essential to begin formative evaluation in September 2026.
