Prosperity of Numbers and People

The recent successful issuance of a Cypriot bond worth €1 billion, with offers reaching €16.5 billion, demonstrates the positive trajectory of the Cypriot economy. The issuance was made with a particularly low interest rate of 3.25%, the lowest in recent country issuances. The Minister of Finance emphasized that this is not new debt, but a refinancing of existing debt. The Cypriot economy has made significant progress in reducing public debt, reaching 55% compared to the target of 60% for the end of the year. GDP growth in 2024 reached 3.4%, amounting to €33.5 billion. The fact that 80% of the offers came from international investors, mainly from the United Kingdom and the Scandinavian countries, is a vote of confidence in the economy.
