Venezuela Signals Willingness for 'New Agenda' with EU

Venezuela has expressed its readiness for a 'new agenda' with the European Union following a meeting between diplomats from both sides. This comes amid strong pressure from the United States, which supports the opposition and has imposed sanctions on the country. Delcy Rodriguez, the new leader of Venezuela, has already signed oil agreements with the US and agreed to the release of political prisoners. The Maduro government, dissatisfied with the EU's stance, had previously announced a reduction in diplomatic representations in France, the Netherlands, and Italy. Foreign Minister Ivan Hill described the meeting with European diplomats as 'sincere, cordial, and pleasant', expressing hope for a 'phase of productive relations'. This development follows shortly after the start of a process to restore bilateral relations between Venezuela and the United States, marking a significant diplomatic shift.
