Severe Weather Causes Landslides and Road Hazards Across Cyprus

Due to the severe weather, landslides of rocks and soil are occurring on roads in the Troodos Mountains, including Evrychou – Kakopetria – Karvounas, Kakopetria – Pinewood – Pedoulas, and Pedoulas – Kykkos – Kampou – Orkontas. Police are advising drivers to exercise extreme caution. Dense fog prevails in the Troodos region, and the road surface is slippery due to water accumulation. Additionally, rocks and soil have fallen onto the safety lanes of the Nicosia-Larnaca highway, but the road remains open. Police urge drivers to adhere to traffic regulations, drive at low speeds, and maintain safe distances.
