Paphos Mayor Alleges Political Black Money and Organized Crime in Cyprus

The Mayor of Paphos, Faidonas Faidonos, has alleged the existence of political black money in Cyprus, used to facilitate transactions. He argued that the government is attempting to cover up the case by requesting evidence instead of conducting an investigation. Mr. Faidonos stated that in Limassol, organized crime is extorting money from businessmen, leading many to choose to leave Cyprus. He accused Cypriot and foreign oligarchs of seeking to maintain a corrupt system to facilitate their own businesses, victimizing honest entrepreneurship. He emphasized the need to stop money laundering in Cyprus.
