Two individuals were arrested by the YKAN (Cyprus Drug and Anti-Narcotics Unit) in the provinces of Larnaca and Limassol for illegal possession of narcotics. In Larnaca, a 39-year-old was arrested following a traffic accident in which he sustained minor injuries. During a subsequent search at the hospital, 24 nylon bags containing methamphetamine, with a total weight of approximately 14.7 grams, were found in his possession. He was also found to be driving without a license and insurance. In Limassol, the YKAN arrested a 24-year-old after a search of his home revealed three bags containing 2.2 grams of cocaine and a precision scale. A sum of 1875 euros was also found during the search, which is being investigated for a possible connection to drug trafficking. Both men were detained on suspicion of immediate commission of a crime, and investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their involvement in illegal activities. The YKAN is conducting further investigations to clarify all aspects of the case.
