Istanbul: Tankers Collide Off the Coast of Florya (VID)

Two tankers, the KALBAJAR, flying the Azerbaijani flag, and the ALATEPE, flying the Turkish flag, collided off the coast of Florya in Istanbul. Both vessels issued a distress signal, prompting the immediate mobilization of land-based rescue teams and a tugboat from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety. The incident occurred in the Kucukcekmece area while both ships were anchored. The KALBAJAR is 141 meters long, and the ALATEPE is 115 meters long. As of now, there are no reports of injuries or marine pollution. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. The proximity of the ships to the shore and the report of contact between them led to the immediate deployment of rescue crews. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
