Lagarde: Global Order is Changing, But Not Disrupted

The President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, stated at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the global order is changing, but it is not a disruption, contradicting the view of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Lagarde emphasized that policymakers need to consider alternative plans, but she does not believe the situation warrants the use of the term “rupture”. She preferred to speak of “alternatives” rather than a fundamental change in the global system.
