President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will visit Bahrain on January 25th and 26th, following an invitation from the King of the country. This visit is part of the government's broader strategy to strengthen relations with Gulf states, covering political, economic, energy, cultural, and defense sectors. The Republic of Cyprus and Bahrain have already developed a Joint Action Plan to deepen their cooperation, and eight new agreements and memoranda of understanding are expected to be signed during the visit. The talks between President Christodoulides and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will focus on bilateral relations, regional and international developments, the Cyprus issue, and relations between the European Union and Bahrain. The President will also brief on the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, with emphasis on strengthening relations with the Middle East and Gulf states. Alongside the official meetings, a Cyprus-Bahrain Business Forum will be held to promote economic and investment ties. The President will also visit Bahrain's state Sovereign Wealth Fund to discuss potential collaborations and attract investments. The visit coincides with the inauguration of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Manama, marking a further strengthening of the institutional capabilities for cooperation and political dialogue between the two countries.
