N. Hadjigeorgiou: Satisfaction with Paphos Tourism Performance in 2025

The Executive Director of ETAP Paphos, Nasos Hadjigeorgiou, expressed satisfaction with Paphos's tourism performance in 2025, despite global challenges. He emphasized that the destination is further consolidating on a quality and sustainable basis. For 2026, ETAP Paphos aims to further upgrade the tourism product, focusing on year-round air connectivity and the development of thematic forms of tourism, such as sports, wedding, wellness, rural, and 55+. It also promotes digital upgrades, accessibility for people with disabilities, and the promotion of the countryside, especially the Polis Chrysochous area. Paphos has a strong network of air connections, while efforts are being made for new connections with Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Lebanon, and Egypt. The goal is also to have a Cypriot airline present at Paphos International Airport. In 2025, despite difficulties such as the conflict in the Middle East, the Russia-Ukraine war, high energy costs, and staff shortages, performance in arrivals and revenue is considered positive, demonstrating the resilience of Paphos's tourism ecosystem. This year marked a milestone in showcasing Paphos as a multi-thematic, smart, and sustainable destination, with significant results in air connectivity, digital upgrades, and the development of thematic tourism.
