A 19th-century historic church in central Amsterdam, Netherlands, was completely destroyed by fire during New Year's celebrations. The fire, as shown in circulating video footage, engulfed the Vondel Church. The incident occurred on a night marred by two deaths from fireworks and “unprecedented” violence against police.
