Delcy Rodriguez has been sworn in as interim president of Venezuela, in a ceremony conducted by her brother, Jorge Rodriguez, president of the National Assembly. The inauguration is based on Articles 233 and 234 of the Venezuelan Constitution, which provide for the transfer of duties to the vice president in the event of the president's absence. Rodriguez has a long political career, having served as Minister of Communication, Foreign Minister, and President of the Constituent Assembly, and has been Vice President since 2018.
