Bill on Common Ownership Buildings Returned to Government

The bill concerning common ownership buildings will be returned to the Government, as it has failed to reach an agreement with the Provincial Organizations (EOA). The President of the Parliamentary Committee on Interior, Aristos Damianou, informed the Ministry of Interior that the Committee cannot proceed with the vote on the bill, as it was submitted without the consent of the EOAs. Mr. Damianou stated that the Committee had postponed several discussions to allow time for dialogue, but the Government did not submit a text acceptable to all. The return of the bill to the Government is accompanied by a limited timeframe, within which a solution with the EOAs must be found or a new, functional bill submitted. This delay is concerning, as the public expects modern legislation for common ownership buildings. The Government is urged to make greater efforts to reach an agreement that takes into account the needs and concerns of all stakeholders.
