Global IQ Ranking: Top 10 Countries and Cyprus's Position

A new global ranking of intelligence quotient (IQ) reveals significant differences in cognitive abilities across countries. The ranking, based on data from worldpopulationreview, assesses logical thinking, problem-solving, and information comprehension. Asian countries dominate the top of the list, with China having the highest average IQ (107.19), followed by Taiwan (107.10), Hong Kong (107.06), and Macau (106.73). Cyprus ranks 56th out of 198 countries, with an average IQ of 98.5 in 2024. This position is higher than Sweden but lower than Norway. Europe shows more balanced performance compared to Asia, with countries such as Spain, Slovenia, France, and Finland having average IQs slightly above 100. Greece is 29th globally with an average IQ of 100.07. Conversely, countries like Albania and Bulgaria record lower average IQs, highlighting the differences within Europe. These differences may be linked to varying educational policies, socioeconomic factors, and investments in human development. This ranking provides an interesting overview of global cognitive abilities, but it is important to note that IQ is just one of many factors influencing human development and success.
