Political Maneuvering Behind Papadopoulos' Criticism of the Government, Claims Mousiouttas

Marinos Mousiouttas believes that the recent statements by Nikolas Papadopoulos against the government regarding the GSI issue are tactics and “survival games” aimed at reviving the fortunes of centrist parties in the polls. He believes this strategy will not yield the desired results, citing historical examples of similar tactics that have failed. Mousiouttas argues that Papadopoulos’ criticism is unjustified, given that the Minister of Finance, who comes from DIKO, was present in Parliament during his speech. He also emphasizes that the attempt to differentiate from the government is happening at an inappropriate time, just a few months before the elections. DIKO MP Christos Orphanides agrees with the criticism, describing Papadopoulos’ moves as “political tricks” and urging him to openly admit his desire to withdraw from the cooperation with the government. Orphanides points out that this cooperation was made without a clear program and agreement. Both politicians agree that Papadopoulos’ criticism does not serve the interests of DIKO and the centrist parties, but rather aims at his personal promotion.
