Generous Salaries: Monthly Pay of the President and State Officials in Cyprus

Details on the salaries of high-ranking state officials in Cyprus have been released, revealing significant differences depending on the position. At the top of the list are the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General, as well as members of the Supreme Courts, with monthly net earnings reaching €9,207. The President of the Republic follows with €9,145 net, while the President of the House of Representatives receives €7,461. The salaries of judges of the Appeal Courts, District and Administrative Courts, the Commercial Court and the Maritime Court range around €7,456. Slightly lower are the presidents of the Competition Protection Commission (€7,366) and the Public Service Commission (€7,241). Significant earnings are also received by heads of services, such as the Chief of Police (€7,172), the Auditor General (€7,172) and the Director General of the House of Representatives (€7,172). Ministers, Deputy Ministers and the Government Spokesperson receive €6,078 net per month, while Members of Parliament receive €5,466. The General Accounting Office of the Republic emphasizes the importance of transparency in state financial transactions, highlighting that it strengthens the accountability of state services and allows citizens to hold them accountable.
